Pure Solar and Alternative Education

As part of their brief to develop a renewable energy portfolio for Hemsworth Arts & Community College, Pure Solar spent a day at the College on 13th May informing and advising Year 9 students on renewable energy technologies.

Working with 5 groups each with twenty five Year 9 students, Chris Whitelock (Managing Director for Pure Solar) and Rob Farley (Technical Director) demonstrated how to make basic solar thermal panels, measured energy usages of household appliances and did some online training with a view to making the students think about how they use energy at home.

"If we can make young people of today understand and realise the importance of responsible energy usage now, then their world will be a better place for them and their kids. It is a privilege to work with a school that genuinely believes in bettering the environment for the sake of their students." says Chris Whitelock.

Pure Solar were also joined by Bill Blackledge from 2b Landscape Consultancy who worked with the college 'Energy Ambassadors' to design their Eco-Quad and Phil Irvin from Ecoled UK who demonstrated the latest in LED lighting technologies.
